Volleyball In York
Playing volleyball for more than 40 years, York VC was formed by GB volleyball player Pete Bibby in 1974. The club have played in the Yorkshire Leagues for many years. In 2009 the Men's team entered the National Volleyball League, with the Women following in 2014. We now have seven teams competing across the NVL, Yorkshire Leagues and HEYVA.
York Volleyball Club is a Volley 2 ClubMark accredited club. We welcome everyone. Whether you would like to play in a team or just for fun, whatever your age or ability, we have a session to suit you.
We supply coaching at each of our training sessions, delivered by registered Volleyball England coaches, with a separate junior/beginner session.
During the indoor season (September - April) there are team-specific training sessions. In the summer we mix everyone together, play in summer tournaments and host a popular mixed tournament, the York VolleyFest.

Stewart starts his term as club chairman this summer (2019), after being elected at the AGM.

Stewart has been an active member and Vice-Chair of the club for many years, ensuring a seamless handover from the long standing Chair Tim Godson.
Stewart plays for York Lions and coaches the York Pumas in the Yorkshire Championship.
